That's the sort of Republicans my grandparents were. My parents are Obama Republicans.
Ike was president. It was easy to be a Republican. Before that, Teddy Roosevelt, Progressive Republican, started workers compensation, health insurance, etc. over the objections of his wealthy conservative Republican community. Now, of course, there are only conservatives and fools in the Republican Party. The rest have become Democrats or gone DTS, or died.

They're still here, but only the dumb ones. The ambitious ones became the middle class core of today's Republicans. That's what Richard Marks wanted to do too, but he failed and is now pretending to be a Democrat.
