Take away the votes from the Hoopa valley precincts, Pat Cleary wins the 5th District Supervisor seat by nearly 200 votes! Ryan went from 351 primary election votes in the Valley to 798 in the General! So the Native American vote came up big for a fellow Native American. Next 4 years should be interesting in the 5th.

What percentage of Hoopa residents voted for Sundberg? 95%?
P.S. Before you go thinking my 'white guy' comment is ridiculous, it's essentially the argument Richard made for Sundberg -- not stating it outright, but implying by observation that race has something to do with anything... that American Indians voted for Sundberg purely because he's Indian.
It couldn't be because, oh, I dunno, Sundberg is very active in Indian communities and they know him? Nah, couldn't be that.
What is wrong with Indians voting for an Indian if they think that their interests would best be served by someone that can relate to their unique set of circumstances? People do it all the time. Over 90% of black people voted for Obama. That is understandable. Of course, if he had an R instead of a D by his name it would have been different but I digress. Most here vote for Liberal Democrats because they feel this is where their interests are best served. I wish that people could get past someones cultural identity for 5 minutes and look at things logically.
Nice!

Fascinating, thanks Richard
Around 80% in Hoopa.
What's the world coming to when a rich white guy can't get elected?
