Bring your mosquito repellent.

Chuck Kirsher is hosting a wood bat tournament at Coopers gulch this weekend August 12th and 13th. It is probably the first independent tournament at Coopers Gulch in at least 10 years. The City of Eureka insurance is way expensive. I have had this war with the city for years to make the process easier and or cheaper. I only directed one last year and it cost me around $600 just for the insurance! It normally costs me a little over $100 if I hold one in Weaverville. I have had the City of Fortuna foot the bill to bring some ball that way. Eureka is a different story. But I digress, let's have some fun this weekend!

Hey Bloggers, did you know Dave Berman represents you?

That's right, Dave has his very own forum on media accountability, only there's no independent media and no bloggers besides himself to be present to ask the really tough questions. Instead it's a collection of the usual suspects from Times-Standard, Clear Channel and KMUD to spin their webs of deceit.

Dave believes he represents local bloggers. Do you believe him? If not, now's the time to demand a seat at the table for a real local blogger. I nominate Fred.

Sounds to me like we need censorship repellent.

Kris: You guys dominated again. The Blues Brothers I am sure are gunning for you after two loses in championship games! But let us leave Coopers Gulch behind. Two broken noses in one weekend is not good. And alot of other hurt people from those fields!

yea, it was my first time playing on those fields, and i know why now, they need to redo the outfields badly..

Playing at Arcata Sports complex spoils ya. Coopers is a softball slum. But it was fun none the less. People just want to play!
