Which two local public officials hold two elected positions?

Can someone hold two public offices simultaneously? Yes. I will give this hint. One of them plays alot of softball.

Whats your concern? Lots of people have several jobs. If they can do them all competantly, thats what matters. Not your silly jealously and envy that someone else whose position you'd like to have is better regarded than you are.

If you're trying to sneakily imply having more than one elective office is a form of cheating, that's a matter of law. If it isn't illegal, then the electorate decides if the person is meeting the job's requirements.

I think my concern would be a conflict of interest or able to swing a vote in both areas. A mea culpa or a tit for tat

1:48pm-The intent of this post was to question local readers political acumen, and you have turned it into something Machiavellian.

I am one of those two who holds two publically elected offices. I am on the non-partisan Board of Directors for the Samoa Peninsula Fire Department, and I am also an elected member of the partisan HCDCC.

You can not hold two non-partisan elected positions simultaneously.

Yee, tough crowd. Now who is the other?

Hmmmm......Michael Winkler?

Gee, lets think about it. I know it's Bonnie, she gets to be Supervisor and god, both apparently are positions elected for life.

I never got to vote for God

Mr. Konkler wins the contest! Michael Winkler is an non-partisan elected Arcata City Councilman and an elected partisan HCDCC member. Stay tuned for more local political questions.

I figured it had something to do with the Democratic Central Committee.

Actually, would a central committee member be considered publicly elected? They would be elected only by democrats, not the public at- large.

two eggs in the same pan. no ones cares, especially at HCDCC

Come on now. Can you honestly say non-partisan and Arcata City Councilman in the same sentence with a straight face? I know that extremists on both sides like to use that term to try and seem mainstream but this is laughable. Every one of them are far-left liberals. As for the HCDCC, that is no more publicly elected than the President of the Moose Lodge.

Now, sitting on the Samoa Fire District board would be considered non-partisan because, ostensibly, it wouldn't be a political situation.

You're telling me that Alex Stillman is a far left liberal?

To say that being "elected" to the local Democrat committe is a public elective office is misleading. A Democratic election isn't public, its like a club. Like the local people "elected to the Sierra Club or ACLU, it has no status beyond itself.

Face it Rich, your "election" to HCDCC is essentially meaningless, without authority and no one locally cares. If you think it has any status, you're showing how out of it you are.

5:23pm- It is no wonder you are posting anonymously. You have to hide your ignorance.

To run for office of the central committee, you need to collect signatures from registered voters to justify intent, and you have to be put on the election ballot for the election. Then you have to convince voters of your district to vote for you in the election.

Now go ahead and comment something else you know nothing about you anonymously ignorant wiener!

Let's see now. I have always thought that you can best judge someone by the company they keep. Here is a list of her main endorsers. She is surely more conservative than your average communist, unlike many there, but a far leftist none the less.

City of Arcata employees union / Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3

Central Labor Council of Humboldt and Del Norte Counties

Humboldt Democratic Central Committee

Seven former Arcata mayors: Carl Pellatz, Connie Stewart, Julie Fulkerson, Thea Gast, Bob Ornelas, Sam Pennisi and Dan Hauser

Humboldt County Supervisor John Woolley

Assemblymember Patty Berg, D-Eureka

Senator Wesley Chesbro, D-Arcata

Congressman Mike Thompson, D-St. Helena

This list is like a who's who of far left activists.

Yes, you need to collect signatures from registered Democrats and the registered Democrats vote for you when you get on the ballot.

You go Rich. One of the many reasons the other blogs I go to have dissallowed anons

Fred: Yes, you are correct. You have to collect signatures of Democrats to run for the HCDCC.

What difference does it make whether or not you use anon? Anyone can make any name they want and say whatever they want to say.

It like softballs wants it both ways. He chooses to permit anonymous posts to this blog. But only when anonymous posters criticize his dumbness does he complain that they are anonymous. If they agree with him, its all OK. so in his tiny world he wants to hear only from those who agree with him.

So he's sorta a control freak doofus who wants to bully and bluster his way past the stupidity of his posts. No way is he fit for a responsible elective office or probably any other employment.

samoasoftball said...

1:19pm-Would you please create a blog so I can stoop to your level of communication anonymously?

Anonymous said...

A weiner like you has to rise to get to an anonymous level. Your posts on anonymous blogs like Heraldo are scarcely noticed or cared about.

When you move away, are you going to sell the houses you own or continue collecting rents from working class people, just like other management does?

Rambo said...

Rich, you do know they post anon because in a small place like Humboldt if people found out the idiotic things they say and think people would point and laugh. Or make them go to HCAR or Sempervirens. Some of their ranting sounds just like the clients I used to teach at HCAR

Carl Pellatz might be interested to know he's on the "who's who" list of far left activists.

No need to defend local Dems when the mayor of the county seat and the longest-surviving county supervisor just switched from red to blue. Go Dems. Good Job, Richard!
