Humboldt County Supervisors pay revisted.
I have posted in the past that our County Supervisors are the highest paid (nearly $80,000 annually)per population in the state by an average of $30,000. I must qualify that by saying counties over 75,000. (Thanks you know who) But did you know that our Supervisors make more than any STATE LEGISLATORS in 49 states not counting our own? Our State Senate and Assembly members make $116,000 and the next highest is Michigan at under $80,000. Just thought you would like to know.

How do we get them to take a cut?
Mark and Clif promised that they wouldn't take the raises passed in 2008. Guess that was a lie.
No, Mark promised to donate the pay raise to a county health program. The county said he couldn't just do a cut for some reason.
If Mark simply refuses the money what are they going to, fire him?
Unless Mark, Clif, or Jimmy have changed their minds and now think the job is worth $80,000 or that they are more valuable than 90% of other supervisors and legslators they now have the votes to recind the raise. Why haven't they?
"No, Mark promised to donate the pay raise to a county health program. The county said he couldn't just do a cut for some reason."
I believe that the county backed away from that ruling, and he didn't take the raise.
mresquan, Mark didn't take the raise or he did the responsible thing and worked and voted to recind it?
You can find the pay of just about anyone in the county on their website if you know where to look...
Since you guys seem to be morons I'll give you a hint: Personnel
At least they are not rude know it all jerks
He took the pay. He also is bilking the county via his expense account.
No way, you mean that Mark outright lied to us all in a public meeting when he told us he wasn't going to take the raise! Video tapes of his promise should be available lets take a look and see who is telling the truth.
How do legislators that have as little responsibility as they have relatively speaking, make more than a supervisor in a major metro area, let alone state legislators elsewhere? These are the people talking about "shared sacrifice", "painful cuts". etc? Why don't they start by cutting their own salary to at least the average of the state? What a joke.
Hey - I have a great idea: How about the supervisors NOT CHARGING THE TAXPAYERS for driving from their homes to their offices and back again?
When I heard that Mark seeks reimbursement to drive from his house to the office I about blew a fuse.
Jimmy, Mark and Clif did not take the raise.
There is a huge difference between not taking a raise (or donating it) and standing up for what is right and demanding that it be repealed. Either you do the right thing or you don't
