Frogs and Dogs.

Man, the frogs and dogs were filling the air with noise out here on the Peninsula today. Is Spring on the way? I sure hope so. Two weeks before pitchers and catchers report!

Speaking of dogs, you all see where Mike Vick gets to keep his bonus money? Judge rules Michael Vick can keep $16.25M in bonuses - USATODAY.com

Gotta love the good old USA justice system.

If the groundhog is right we are in for six more weeks. I think the break in the weater is just trying to trick us. Spring bulbs coming up and starting to bloom though.

Michael Vick is lucky that he got that Judge. If he had gotten anywhere near my wife after what he did to those poor dogs, he would be speaking out of the other side of his mouth, and with a much squeakier voice.

New subject…

You are so lucky to have those frogs! The barking dogs I would question. I was raised next to several vernal ponds, and the frogs that would croak and carry on were like music to my ears. I used to try to stay awake just to listen to them.

My wife feels the same way. When we built our new house, we put Lexan skylights in our bedroom just to listen to the rain. My neighbor put in a swimming pool, and he covers it in the winter. The frogs live in the pond that the pool cover makes. So now we crack our window open at night to hear the frogs.

Swimming pool next door? Must be warm there in the summer. Warmth. Spring. Anything but what we have had.

Vick won't keep that money. His lawyers will get it.

I am not surprised that Mike Vick kept that money. The contract he signed with Atlanta probably had a conduct clause that did not specify enough what would constitute repayment of any monies awarded as bonus. That being said, he will face heavy fines, and more time off of the field if he gets re-instated to the NFL.

Unlike Ricky Williams, who has to repay his bonus money to the Dolphins, Mike Vick did not leave the team at his own free will. Had he left on his own, then the league and the Atlanta Falcons would have him in court trying to get that money back.

I should have said, the League and the Atlanta Falcons would have got that money back.

My neighbors had several frogs that would talk back and forth, first slowly then picking up speed until they were ribbet ribbeting in unison for about fifteen or twenty seconds then.... STOP. It would be quiet for a bit then....ribbet. I thought it was a laugh riot. I even taped it for an audio class I was taking so I could mess with sound effects. Then the egret landed and a kinda hush fell over the pond. I'm now in search of pollywogs big enough so their koi won't eat `em and I can enjoy frogs again.
