Kentucky Fried Chicken leaving Eureka?

I have heard from one of my grubbing buddies that the 2 Eureka KFC's are shutting down. SAY IT AIN'T SO! They had a good buffet on Broadway, but usually went to the one on the Burre Center.

Flags at half mast, everyone. A region mourns.

As early as Wednesday the signs were being taken down outside the building. They were bugging out M.A.S.H. style.

Tom Sebourn has the scoop over on his blog.

I love the episode where Whitey bets Beaver there isn't any chicken in that huge revolving KFC bucket sign and crazy Beav climbs up there to prove him wrong, and gets stuck.

Be thankful they're gone.

The cruelty maintains the birds' elevated level of adrenaline throughout the body, most especially in muscle. It's what makes the chicken delicious.

It's your health, friend. If the risk factors associated with eating animals raised in Auschwitz-like horror just for human consumption don't kill you before you want to die, the trans fat, sodium and other poisons surely will.

Somehow, my cholesterol levels are great. I attribute it to spite and malice, friend.

I'm not surprised at all that the Burre Center one is closing. I hardly ever saw anyone go in there.

I never ate at the Burre Center KFC because there was always a creepy old guy in a car watching people go into the place.

I'm not a creepy old guy I was working undercover for P.E.T.A., the trenchcoat was just for effect.

Fear not people, the rumor is that Chester Fried Chicken is taking over those KFC locations!

Good. Smelled better than it tasted! What we need in the area is a Hooter's but they'd have to import waitresses.

Oh, Come on people!!! Give me a commemorative 500-gallon barrel of Kentucky Fried Chicken, a vat of mashed potatoes and gravy and some of that coleslaw-like substance. That's good eats. All the more for me!

Sigh....I miss Henny Penny Fried Chicken at Pam's, Deb's, The Red Barn and The Little Red Barn.

What kind of dipshit are you. Stress tightens up muscle fiber and makes meat taste bad.

As luck would have it, we live in a free country and if you do not want to eat meat it is your right. I however choose to munch on critters. Actually believed some dumb shit when I was a kid and was a veg for over 3 years. Missed the juice running down my throat and tearing into flesh with my teeth. Oh by the way, your digestive system is geared to run on about anything but meat is primary. If you like chickens so much spend more time with them.

The last time I ate at the one on Broadway I bit into a piece and grease squirted across the table. I haven't been there since.

Maybe we can get a Popeye's. I love their cajun red beans and rice.
