What's in your car stereo player?
Most of the time I channel surf the radio, but when I listen to a CD it usually is harder music. I ask people what they currently have ready to play in their car to measure their mood or see what genre of music they hold close to heart. Oh yes, right now I have The White Stripes - Icky Thump loudly in my stereo. And you?

Harder ? Anyway, if I want to listen to something harder, i go with Tool, or if I want something out there, I go with A Perfect Circle.
Awhile back I found a CD in the roadway. I picked it up and tossed it in my car. It's Dr. Dre's "2001."
It's revolting, repugnant, nasty stuff. But it grows on you.

Funny... someone just asked me this the other night. Right now, I have the soundtrack to Across the Universe in my car CD player (hopefully my sister doesn't see this, as it's her birthday present...haha).
It's amazing what you can find out about a person through their driving music selections.
I don't have a sound system in my vehicle, but it sounds like a lot of other people are listening to music which is strikingly similar:
It has a slow beat (booooom, booooom, booooom). The bass makes all of the plastic parts on the owners' vehicles vibrate with a high-pictched buzzing.
Don't forget the biggest requirement for the "booooom, booooom, booooom" music, CPR... a proper sound system must be able to set off car alarms as the vehicle moves up neighborhood streets. Specifically my landlord's work truck. I looooove waking up to that thing in the middle of the night. :-)
It's all about the Evita soundtrack. That and Earth Crisis. But I don't drive.

I admit I listen to 1340 am, Sports Talk. When that is not working I will also listen to Fountains of Wayne. Velvet Revolver is good too.

I was thinking about changing my CD to Jefferson Airplane's Surrealistic Pillow, but changed my mind and went to KSLG 94.1 and heard a Smashing Pumpkins remake of Lanslide by Fleetwood Mac. I did not think it would work with Billy Corgan, but it actually does. One of my kids took (they call it borrow) my last Smashing Pumpkin CD.
I nearly "borrowed" my brother's Mott the Hoople Live CD while I was on vacation. I played nice, and bought my own copy.

Sorry, but Country & Western kicks all other forms of music's collective ass. Except for maybe Euro-Trance and Tuvan Throat Singing.
Satellite radio for me too. No CDs. Haven't listened to antiquated, advertising-dominated airwaves radio for years. Totally commercial free for $13 per month. I get all the NPR programming I want that KHSU doesn't provide. Siriusly happy with satellite.
Gotta love corporate satellite radio.
