And, as Rose argues, we cannot raise taxes for the top 2% of Americans. They are struggling just as much as anyone these days.
What I said is - you can raise it to 100% and it will not solve your spending problem. "anonymous"
Give your (Democrat-in charge) legislature 100 billion tomorrow, and they will spend 150 billion, and be back to grab more.
That's the problem. You can raise taxes til the cows come home, and it won't help until you get some new legislators that understand this basic fact.
And other than that, anon, I think a flat tax, or The Fair Tax, is the right way to go.
But I was answering Richard's question - how many people would have trouble coming up with two grand... 99%
That separate from whether or not you ought to be able to take someone else's money at gunpoint.
And, anyway, Richard, I came here to tell you that you made the news aggregator at Lucianne... under "Humboldt Nation," in the sidebar.
I believe the issue Rose was what percentage of Americans could come up with 2000 dollars in a pinch. But go ahead and make up your own arguments to mask your nonsense.
Those in the 95 percentile, making well over 100K can't come up with 2G's in a pinch?
Many of us don't have a pot to piss in nor a window to throw it out of.
Oh yes, one paycheck away from disaster is a reality. And that's that's the honest truth. Saving for retirement in a 401k or equivalent aside, there just isn't any extra to go around after all is said and done. Vacations just aren't in the vocabulary for many folks.
Where in the Constitution is a vacation discuss. Not in Bill of Rights. I am not belittling folks have money problems. But Roses personal stalker has no clue of the problem. More taxes on those rich SOB's is always the answer. But its not. The spending needs to be cut. Stop voting the idiots into power. Look at Cheesedicks record.
Rose who is taking your money at gunpoint? Paul Gallegos again? Rose, we've been over this territory before. You need help. You need a major psychological evaluation followed up with lithium. You need to be monitored. Your paranoia is disturbing and your delusions are grandiose.
Your mind is demented, as evidenced by your using this post to further your latest conspiracy theory about Paul and Asset Forfeiture weapons. Paul is not out to get you Rose.
Get help soon, ok? Some of the people who worked with you on the Jackson campaign are getting worried about you and just want you to be safe.
If one were to listen to a campaign speech by Lincoln, Roosevelt, Kennedy, Nixon, Reagan, etc. you would hear basically the same thing. So, have we been on the verge of financial ruin for 235 years? This is irrelevant to anything. When those 50% of the people that are sooooo bad off stop buying, Ipads, satellite TV, computers, high speed internet and the rest of the luxuries we almost all indulge in I will buy into the pity party. Until then, it is nothing more than gluttony and an entitlement mentality that gets most to that position. Oh yeah, that must be the 50% of the population that pays no income taxes but always has their hand out for some EITC, unemployment, etc.
Hey Richard, how much food do you consume in one 24-hour period?
