Election June 2008 Redux

Oh, come on now. I was close on most.

Thompson vs. Clogg- I thought there was a movement of discontent. I was way off. Democrats in the First love Mike. By nearly 90%. Keep on keeping on Mike.

In the Humboldt County Democratic Central Committee race in the 4th District, Charlene Cutler-Ploss garnered over 90% of the votes her way. I was fortunate to have nearly 89% of the people in the fourth district blot my name. Pam Service had 88% of the Demos vote. Jake Pickering was the first choice on the ballot and had 68% of the Demos votes. He was able to edge Bob Service by 4 votes. Ouch. I hope that Jake is able to provide 10% of the work that Bob has provided for the cause of the Democratic Party. Bob has been invaluable in the Democratic process locally. Jake. Better be ready to put some substance behind those words!

1St Distrct- Jimmy was spot on.
2nd.District- Clif over Estelle. Oops.
3rd-District-Mark Lovelace easily.

I think there are still absentee and provisional ballots to be counted in all districts. Jake's vote could change if there are more than 4 that didn't vote for him. A few years ago one candidate won but then the absentees changed that race.

all the votes have not been counted yet. so don't count bob out yet.

I turned my absentee ballot in on election day and Jake was not on it. So we know Bob is only three votes behind now.

Somewhere I read that Faulk checked with Election Division and there were 6400 votes to be counted. I think this sounds incorrect as one of the newspapers said 1000 in So Hum and there could not have been that many for the other districts. I see to remember reading Carolyn Crnich saying 1300 ballots remained but that could be incorrect.. It actually takes a while to get the absentee ballots ready to be counted - names checked against voting records, etc. The absentee ballots cause a lot of overtime with everything that has to be done. I never understood why Lindsey wanted everyone to vote absentee.

I never understood why Richard loved orange chicken at the China Buffet.

I don't understand why Richard voted for Lovelace as he was for the failed redevelopment plan and now Bonnie may have the votes she needs to bring it back. Jimmy won't vote against her. Lovelace is beholden for her support. If we get Clif (the Apple King) he will vote with her = especially all of his $10,000 Blue Lake donation she got him. I don't want this to come back but it just might as Bonnie isn't done with this one - Redevelopment is a "tool". The BOS said Loretta's furlough is a "tool". We don't need more "tools" in the county. What would we do without the "tools" in the County??
Maybe have some common sense.
