Tsunami means "Harbor Wave." Tsunami - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia You would think they would use another name to describe it. How about "Big Wave?" Any better suggestions?
The people in Sand Land have been well informed of the drill and are expected to participate. It should be pretty interesting to see what happens.

Tidal wave is incorrect, as a tsunami has nothing to do with tides. The word tsunami comes from the Japanese words tsu (harbor) and nami (wave). A tsunami is a wave or series of waves created by an underwater disturbance such as an earthquake, landslide, volcanic eruption, explosion, or even by a meteorite.
48 ft is the highest elevation in Samoa. I think our house is close to 40 ft. The safety zone is supposed to be 35 ft. I won't be hanging around to test that theory.
Isnt it funny that the rest of society must spend resources on telling the Sand Dwellers to seek the high dunes in the event of a tsunami? I am pleased though that the government is encouraging the dwellers to stay where they are. My concern is that if a major event happens these things may try and seek safety in Eureka. Yes Sand Dwellers, yes, you're safe in your sand hovels. Stay their and everything will be just fine...
