Patrick Riggs steps down as HCDCC chair!

Humboldt County Democratic Central Committee HCDCC - Welcome to the Humboldt County Democratic Central Committee chair Patrick Riggs is stepping down to focus on his duties as President of the Eureka Teachers Association.

Patrick has been heavily involved locally on the political front with the Local Solutions Political Action Committee

As some of you already know, Patrick and I have not seen eye to eye on some issues in the past, but we seemed to have come to an understanding as of late. He supported my appointment to the HCDCC 4th District.

I know how time consuming union representation is, and I wish him well.

Who is going to take over the HCDCC? Hmmmmm. Should be interesting!

THis might be a good thing. I'm not one of the insiders but I there seems to be a lot of energy going to matters other than what the HCDCC is for- electing Democrats. Not pondering resolutions about national matters, inventing the wheel, trying to be Green. For better or worse, the Democrats don't get their marching orders from an organized center like the GOP does. Patrick works hard and deserves credit but I think a change might be healthy

Richard, about time that back stabbing know nothing finally stepped down....

Finally your problems are solved...

Hey, maybe it's your turn to chair and move the Demos forward in a more positive way Richard.....

All animals are equal just some of us(horses) are more equal than others. The hogs agreed but whisper under their breath (hogs not horses). Riggs caused as much trouble as he could and now moves on to greener pastures or is it the color of the money?

Riggs, most of the DCC and half or better of reg.dems. locally are at best radical greens at worst way left of that. So no great loss.

Maybe he's getting ready to run against Rodoni.

I really hope so. I would be great for the jack-ass to to finally have to stand up to criticism for his socialist BS and his dishonesty as chairman of the DCC. Love to see Rodoni's straight foreward strenght highlighted by Riggs welfare for everyone mantra. Great! Great! Great! I hope he runs.

I wonder if he'll get a makeover? He's short, puggie, balding and gay. Paul Gallegos he's not.

Riggs or Rodoni? Can I just throw up now, instead of voting for either? Riggs has proven how ineffective he is at politics. Maybe someone should point out to Riggs that politics is not an academic excercise. And maybe someone should point out to the Republican Roger Rodoni that accepting a 9,000 acre ranch at $350/month from Pacific Lumber is bribery. What a race it will be - stagnation vs. corruption. Can we have a third choice, please?

This could really work out for you Dick, if your appointed, it would save you from another embarassing political butt kicking. Your co workers

Hey Richard, when you get into work check out the nice present I left you on the seat of the newer forklift. I figured you were tired of me pissing all over your controls, so this time its a little different. Cheers!

!2:54 your half right. Does that make you half assed on the other side? Rodoni's cost for his lease are significantly higher that your little pea brain could understand. About 20% of the property can handle livestock. Of course you know that since your a great cow/calf opperator.

And you are a magnificent speller. Not.

$350 for 9,000 acres? Damn! Can I get that deal? I'll vote however Pacific Lumber wants too. I promise. I'll be even more of tool than Roger Rodoni. Where's my 9,000 acres? And I get a house too? Where do I sign up?

riiigght 535..In FACT that's why the Fair Political Practices Commission fined Rodoni 50 MILLION dollars and threw his ass in jail for five years, with no chance of parole.

That's why Rodoni's oppenent was able to make such HAY out of it and he was crushed the last time he ran, garnering only the votes of himself, his wife and evil PALCO executives...

Oh....wait a minute. The FPPC, investigating the claim found NO IMPROPRIETIES???????????????????? You dont say...

You mean to say that Roger won his last election overwhelmingly, and all you are left with is innuendo?

Oh, sorry 535, you have to be able to WORK the land in exchange for the terms of the lease that Rodoni has, so I suspect that leaves you out of the running.

Keep hurling out the same charge though, it's been tossed out before and once again, found to be A-OK...

Why dont you call Gregor up and see if he has any rope you can piss up, lol.

Riggs has destroyed the credibility of the local dem party along with his other cronies on the board. He is divisive and an angry "little" man with delusions of grandeur. But I would have to disagree with the poster that said he is not like Gallegos. He is...incompetent and dishonest fits both of them to a tee. Hopefully, those that are left in the local party will see the "light" and cut the bullshit out that they have been shovelling out to the rest of us. The local party needs leadership and most on the current board need to go.

You might be able spel but you can't add. You would go broke keeping the road open up to rainbow but of course you know that sinve your such a great Cat operator. Do you have any idea what a tank of fuel costs? NOT!

10:07 - not only can't you spell, you make no sense.

Anonymous said...

Third choice? I believe there is a exploratory commitee in place for Steve Harris in the 2cnd district and this other news may bring him back to the dem. party.

Anonymous said...

ok - and what is going to bring the rest of us disenfranchised dems back. I am telling you that there needs to be a complete housecleaning in that building.

Anonymous said...

2:17 we know you can't understand anything that isn't about welfare.

Anonymous said...

He didn't smoke enough dope today.

Anonymous said...

You unhappy dems need to wake up. Rodoni is the only true independant in the county. You should voye for him. In reality he is the closest to what you say you want in a rep.

I can verify that Steve Harris was at this latest Humboldt County Democratic Central Committee meeting announcing fund raising on behalf of the Humboldt County Domestic Violence Services.

Steve Harris has not officially announced his candidacy for the 2nd District County Supervisor seat, but I do know that it is a possibility.

If it comes down to a battle of who can hit a softball the farthest, Steve is in! I have witnessed that.

The mantra of the pot head welfare 2nd dst. faction will be "Run Riggs,Run Riggs,Run". Their the finacial back bone of the HCDCC.

The problem with a democrat running for office today is the .orgs No one can be moderate or move positions issue by issue with the wrath of the Soros machine. That means no fund raising and an assulty of lies that would make Hemmler blush.

samoasoftball said...

2:17pm Clarify your position please. I am confused.

Anonymous said...

Soros funds the .orgs they are fundamentally flawed. Some would say evil. Riggs is a perfect example of their destructive power by excess. Just like most drug addicts he is propably a good man when not high with the evil juice. With Soros' ability to fund the extreem agendas and put it in Americas face every day people begin to accept it as mainsteam masking its true fringe position. Several examples come to mind to but this into perspective. McCarthyism,Hilter, current drug attitudes leading to the Meth epidemic, the 9-11 conspiracy theory. If you can say it often enough it becomes true and Soros through the . orgs can say it non stop. Ask you self why you are forgetting how these operations treated you. Run but run on the truth.

8:02 you are whacky.

Anonymous said...

Concur.

Anonymous said...

You both are .org clones. 8:02 is spot on. Take in the good insight Richard.

Anonymous said...

WEs knows this is true. He will be sucking the dot com bung for every drop it will give. Distastefull to you Richard but Wes is very used to the taste of sh#t in his mouth.

Well, let us see how this plays out. As far as myself, what you see is what you get. Just middle of the road working class who wants his voice heard, and cares about Humboldt County and the North Coast in general. We need someone in office who represents the people and not special interests.

As far as the HCDCC, I would hope that Chris Beresford will consider taking over the chair. She seems to be the sensible choice. Bob Service will hopefully be the Vice-Chair.

But who knows what might happen in the next month.

How about new people on the Dem Central Commitee? The same old clique isn't going to improve anything. Rearranging deck chairs on the political version of The Titanic won't solve local Dems' problems. Fewer teachers on the HCDCC might be a good start. Politics is not an academic excercise. The HCDCC needs to get serious and involved next time around in electing local progressive Democrats at the school board, municipal & county level. In 2006, the HCDCC was completely worthless during the elections. They made a lot of promises to assist local candidates that were never kept. But 17 of the members of the HCDCC did betray their party by supporting a Republican supervisor. Great job HCDCC.
