IN-N-OUT Burger in Eureka! Oh Boy!

Rumor has it that IN- N- OUT Burger is setting up shop at the old Arctic Circle location on 5th St. Anyone else heard this? Now we will have to get used to that secret menu list. 2XMeat, Animal Style, Flying Dutchman and all the other cult names for their burgers. Bring it on!

WOW! Another national fast food franchise right here in Humboldt! Everybody who doesn't eat at local quick-stop food joints instead will be HELLA STOKED!

Of the fast foods, they do serve the best burger. 3:53, it will be close to McDonalds. In Rohnert Park they put the neighboring McDonalds out of business. At least you can take comfort in that.

Anonymous, In-N-Out Burger is not a franchise fast food chain. It a California family owned business.

I love the Double Double.

How uncannily strange. I mentioned the idea of an In 'N Out being in that location to a City Council member, the Chamber of Commerce, and to the Company itself about 10 months ago. I was told their supply chain would likely be stretched too far coming to Eureka and the overall population numbers were too low. If the rumor is true, I guess the latter facts were wrong.

Also, In-N-Out doesn't sell tacos, tofu, soup, steak, chicken, noodles, pita, bbq, smoothies, Onion Rings, sandwiches, donuts, salads or other foods that would compete with local restaurants. Just burgers and fries.

Right, they're a happy good little fast food chain. They've spent a ton of money over the last five years alone to produce marketing gold. Their money chain is linked to all the other fast food giants, they "process their own beef" (whatever) from the same types of overcrowded hell houses, they pay minimum wage, etc. Their owners are living high on the hog like the out of touch venture capitalists they are.

It's like the new line of Clorox products. Same company, same poison, green bottle.

It's candy and you like junk food, just admit it and enjoy eating that garbage, your life is your trip. Think about spending those few bucks at a REAL local dive instead, s'all I'm saying.

Look at this picture, In n' Out's supplier:

http://www.invisible5.org/images/fresnocoalinga_banner.jpg

...contemplate the fact taht those are literally In n' Out's HEALTHIEST AND BEST KEPT cows.

Further contemplate the fact that they make sure as hell pics of their "other" cows don't get around. Nor publicity about all the steroids, antibiotics and growth hormones they pump into them. Probably don't give a shit about that at this point in your life, do you?

I, personally, can't even begin to support them. Happy eating!

I can't wait for In-N-Out to arrive.

It's all hype. In N Out sucks I think. I've been to more than 5 countries and have had burgers far better than this place. Why do we love this place in this county? Is it because it's a big business that some other big city has?

The building is still for lease, I really doubt an In-N-Out Burger is coming to Eureka.......

5:38pm: IN-N-OUT pays over $10 an Hour with health benefits. One of the highest wages for any fast food chain. They pride themselves for that.

When a company cares enough to take full control of it's main product like beef patties, it means they don't get the recalls that other companies have. That also means that they don't have ammonia treated beef. Look at what Burger King and McDonalds put into their beef.

It's not a new In-N-Out, it is a second Taco Bell.

7:24, know anybody that's worked there? I do. Talked wiht one of their floor employees lately? Obviously not.

in n' out has been around since at least the mid 80's. It wasn't until about five years ago (somethng liek that) that they switched beef providers, and only after a major recall was hurting them bigtime. That's when they started dumping money to promote themselves as something different. Their new "farm" is just as attrocious. Of COURSE they're going to say it's all clean and green, but do some digging and find out what people who've been there have to say. try to find pics, if you can, I used to have plenty.

eat what you like. For your own sake mebby try to learn what it is you're eating.

A few years ago, as Sebourn alluded to, there was a huge nationwide recall of tainted beef, including thousands of pounds sent to our local schools. Among the list of restaurants serving this cheap tainted beef were Jack in the Box and In & Out.

They claim to be better but it is all hype.

I have eaten at In and Out, there are lots of places in Humboldt where you can get better burgers. Lost Coast, Stars, Mamas (if they reopen), Surfside Burgers, AA Lounge, many more.

If you want a burger demand local grass fed organic beef.

I prefer dry-aged corn fed prime cuts of beef from the midwest. You can keep the grass fed organic, tasteless "beef" if that is what you prefer.

Anonymous said...

Do you think you are going to get "dry aged corn fed midwest beef" at In & Out?

No, since you seem to be clueless I will tell you....you will get steriod and antibiotic pumped garbage fed "beef" from some filthy feedlot in Modesto.

Anonymous said...

I never said that I expected prime beef from In and Out. I merely commented on my preference of beef as opposed to the organic, grass fed tasteless crap that is served here. Believe me when I say that I am not clueless in this area junior.

"You can keep the grass fed...tasteless 'beef' ..."

Thanks, pal, because that is what we prefer 'round here.

In - out has been around since early 70's. Used to go to #2 location on Roscoe Blvd, Van Nuys in 1972-3. Better burgers at 6 Rivers for sure. Great beer. Sorry chances of it happening are slim. We just don't have demographics. They will make that decision, not folks in Eureka. So don't try to blame chamber, city council, etc.

Anon, this is America. If you don't like their food, don't spend your time or money there.

It would be nice to have another choice. Nothing repeat nothing beats no brand burger stand

In n Out ain't got nuthin on Arctic Circle. It was Always Above the Rim. You can take yr T Bells and yr In n Out Christian Patties, and flush 'em. Can I get an Amen!

Local burgers would be my #1 choice...if places would get off their high horse and charge reasonable prices. Yes, it's more realistic for the average person to hit up the places where you can get a burger for less than 8$. Plus...In n Out tastes amazing. Period.
