LA Times writer in Humboldt County!

Los Angeles Times writer Alana Semuels will be in Humboldt County tomorrow to do a story about the Timber industry decline. She will be at the Samoa Cookhouse at noon and is hoping to talk to the general membership of the Association of Pulp and Paper Workers local 49 at around 4pm in Manila. Please help get the word out!

Richard,

Could you email me the name of the L.A. Times reporter and any contact information you may have? I would like to speak with the reporter to provide them our story.

Contrary to the Times Standard article, we are still working diligently to save the mill. I wish John Driscoll would start writing stories that would be helpful to our cause. Perhaps that is too much to ask of a reporter.

Lastly, please have Nate contact me so that I can brief him on our upcoming plans. This is the time for all of us to take a stand. Let me be clear, it is time for the AWPPW to remember why labor unions were created! I need your help. And I need it now.

Sincerely,
Bob Simpson

Bob: Nate Zink is more than willing to meet with you. He has been public with his support of any start up efforts. Please call and let's get this moving forward!

Sad but seems true these days.

I think the article is about 10 to 20 years too late.
