Operating Engineers Local 3 endorses Robin!

Robin finished the process of garnering her first union endorsement. Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3, IUOE, OE3 She was certainly grateful, as she will be running a real grassroots campaign and we will be scrambling for funds for literature and such. Any creative fund raising ideas out there? I will keep you posted on election processes as we go along.

Robin's grandfather Eddie Carroll was a Union Business Representative for sawmill workers way back and Robin's father Bill was a union mill worker. And of course she is married to a current union mill worker. Her standard of living has been provided by union representation!

12:11pm-The executive boards from most unions do this voting. Most of the time the general membership does not vote. Some times it is the executive Representatives who do the endorsing.

When I was endorsed by the AWPPW local 49 it was a membership vote on the floor. Last one I have ever heard of locally for a candidate.

Brother or Sister Local #3 member, as you know , Local 3 elects a grievance committee at the first meeting of each calender year. These three rank and file members make up the comittee that interviews candidates that have requested endorsement. The district Rep. sits on the comittee as secratary and does not vote. The comittee is elected by the rank and file. If you have further questions about your process please call me. Steve Harris District Rep. Local 3 district 40 Eureka (I will make this entry as anonymous as I do not have an account as a blogger)
