What's bizarre is that anyone would simply take Eureka Police Department press releases at face value. Don't we have any real journalists working for the local papers?
We have good journalists,it's just that they are suppressed by who they work for.
Oh, let's cry for the poor journalists. Any journalist worth their salt tries for the big story no matter what their editor says. It's not like there are a whole line of reporters looking to work around here. Mark, you are a putz.
These "journalists" have discredited their profession over the past several years. That's why blogs are so popular these days. It's one of the few places you can actually find the real story, in large part due to the ability to comment anonymously. Once we start insisting on having everyone treat the blogosphere like a newspaper's letter-to-the-editor section, then blogs will lose their credibility as well. Anonymity is a powerful tool to protect whistleblowers, and seemingly only the emotionally-fragile and/or those in positions of "authority" are threatened by the anonymity of the blogosphere.
I agree that they've all dropped the ball in looking into the EPD,and asking questions of the officers involved in each fatality. The media needs to be directing questions to the officers involved directly, when one's death is an end result of an altercation with them.
Yeah, it doesn't add up. The jail has now updated its medical policy in case you missed that article Richard. Clearly something went wrong somewhere along the line and while I am not defending Cotten, lets remember he is a US citizen with as many rights as anyone else.
You want them to make stuff up?
Rose: You have to admit this whole case is weird. I would have not been surprised if he had went across the street to Courthouse Market and bout a pint of whisky and walked down to the Mission and caused problems, but LSD? I am not a professional in the field but it seems to me there have been cases in question when it comes to LSD overdoses. Has the testing became consistent and accurate? Here is a case of a questionable result:

Homeless man found dead under tarp in Redwood Park this morning. Subject is thought to have died of exposure.
Witnesses had called APD early this morning to report a homeless man sleeping in Redwood Park. Officers shortly arrived and contacted the subject and determined that the subject was deceased. Ambulance was called to remove the body and officers hauled the homeless mans belongings away.
Nick Bravo is dead! DEAD!
Dream on, little dreamer, dream on.
ya do have to wonder why he never posts anymore. Eric and the rest have probably blocked him.
Nick Bravo was seen stalking someone in Redwood Park last night. Later human remains were found. Police said body looked like it had been killed and eaten by a mountain lion.
Are we assuming the body found was the same one Bravo was stalking?
Nick Bravo was seen last night carrying off a small racoon in his jaws. Witnesses said that Bravo looked rather starved and his coat did not have the healthy gloss as seen on other wildlife*.
*Yes, homeless people are now considered wildlife.
Witnesses said that when they shone a flashlight at Bravo his eyes glowed and they could see something like a tail twitching behind him. They said at first they thought it was a mountain lion but upon closer inspection it was determined that it was indeed Bravo (unless the mountain lions have taken to wearing hawaiin shirts this summer)
Park officials said that he could be dangerous if cornered so it is best to put down any food you have if you see him and run away.
I hate the homeless. They really are nothing but animals and parasitic animals at that. I would say that we need to cleanse Arcata of the homeless. Send them to frickin Eureka or somewhere. I know the humanitarians will say we have to be civilized towards them. Civilized? Is it civilized for people to sleep in parks, eat out of dumpsters, bathe in public restrooms? NO! It IS civilized to not want public restrooms to be filthy, or to not want to smell people who eat out dumpsters, or have your morning jog interupted by the sight of some homeless person sleeping in a park. I know I'll be verbally criticized for what I say here, but I know that they're greatly outnumbered by the silent majority who wants the homeless filth cleaned up. I believe that if we of Arcata would be honest with ourselves about the need for a solution we could easily round the homeless up and deal with them in the way god intended them to be dealt with. Hell! We could create a local city wide holiday around rounding up the homeless and having public executions. We could give awards to people, including young people, who either catch or cleanse a homeless person. We'd eventually run out of homeless people and then we could be paid huge amounts of money by places like Seattle and L.A. to take their homeless off their hands.
I think Bravo and Anon 2:52 are both death eaters. Better check them for tatoos.
Nick is a Reaper. As in Grim Reaper. He came here to take souls and he has succeeded.
