Move along richard, Move Along...
Waste Management did the work in 2006 and now they have to pay for it as they are paying interest on their bill. Until water quality approves the cleanup the funds can't be paid so waste mgt is short on funds.
The Headwater monies were set aside originally for diplaced timber industry workers. The money is being distributed to projects it was not earmarked for.
I would like to see the BOS add language to those applying for the funds to committ to paying living wages to workers jobs created by the funds. I have a bigger wish list of other stipulations the BOS should take.
Now back to my shovel.
Last year Envirocon did the work at cummings road and had Thumpers doing all the mechanic work. So, the owner of Thumpers ( Ed Rasmusson convicted child molester)drove through that neiborhood daily.Maybe the County should screen there contractors a bit better. Check Megans law Bluelake Ca.
