The Humboldt Waste Management Authority is granted $448,000 from the Headwaters Fund to help pay for the closure of the Cummings Road Landfill.
The loan will become the final piece of a funding puzzle to help the Humboldt Waste Management Authority deal with a clean-up and abatement order from the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board. Times-Standard Online - Bluffs homeowners get cold shoulder
Tell me how this is creating long term jobs to replace jobs lost by timber worker layoffs. What kind of "Business Plan" did they show the BOS.
What kind of business plann did the Harbor District show the BOS for their $200k Headwaters gift to study the rehab of Redwood doc?
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't f#*#*#g matter. If Bonnie wants its, DONE DEAL!
ReplyDeleteRichard you just dont undertsand. The world is too complicated for you. Go back toshoveling your chips.
ReplyDeleteMove along richard, Move Along...
ReplyDeleteWaste Management did the work in 2006 and now they have to pay for it as they are paying interest on their bill. Until water quality approves the cleanup the funds can't be paid so waste mgt is short on funds.
ReplyDeleteThe Headwater monies were set aside originally for diplaced timber industry workers. The money is being distributed to projects it was not earmarked for.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see the BOS add language to those applying for the funds to committ to paying living wages to workers jobs created by the funds. I have a bigger wish list of other stipulations the BOS should take.
Now back to my shovel.
Last year Envirocon did the work at cummings road and had Thumpers doing all the mechanic work. So, the owner of Thumpers ( Ed Rasmusson convicted child molester)drove through that neiborhood daily.Maybe the County should screen there contractors a bit better. Check Megans law Bluelake Ca.
