Stew in your ignorance, turncoat.
I want to say it before Richard does: 6:35 - Weiner
LOL. Richard asks you to name the bogey man, so you turn him into one too.
6:54pm-Thanks for the help! 6:35pm-You have no idea do you? Funny.
I remember reading this article from the North Coast Journal some time back
http://www.northcoastjournal.com/news/2010/10/14/interested-parties/
I'd say it's more like those within the development industry Richard, not just actual developers. Here's a list from the article:
Robert McBeth
Kramer Investment
Shaw and Peterson Insurance
Eureka Oxygen
Lundblade and Co.
Hilfiker Pipe Co.
TJS Leasing and Holding Co.
Humboldt Builder’s Exchange
ReProp Investments
Lundblade and Company
Schmidbauer
Pierson Company
These folks all have significant business interests in the development of this county. It would be wise for them to make friends in the right places. I'm sure if you did a bit more research, you could come up with many more interested businesses and individuals who's livelihood is dependent on the future development of the County.
The people who think Humboldt will develop as quickly as Santa Rosa are guilt of fear mongering. But those who are concerned about Santa Rosa type development (strip malls, sprawling single family housing tracts, big box retail super centers) have good reasons to be concerned.
Can we at least have a In and out Burger?
Oh course Richard! I believe they are praised for their pay scale relative to the fast food market.
But I do hope that you are generally concerned about the new businesses that are being pitched by the local "development industry." Walmart? Home Depot? Atleast Walmart has found a home in existing retail space. Do you really think a large strip mall is the appropriate location for undeveloped property fronting Humboldt Bay?
I just wish our local "development industry" would be willing to consider some more progressive proposals.
I think the proposed Forster-Gill Ridgewood proposal is pretty much the Holy Grail of the type of development eschewed by critics. Lucky for us the economy is taking an extended bath so that when it comes back from the dead we'll be able to dispatch it like any other zombie.
Bob McKee is the Man behind Estelle, and Rex? C'mon. You can't be that stupid. Can you?
Richard, you're playing dumb on the one... Right?
"More like a Carmel Valley or South Lake Tahoe."
What did I miss, I think Carmel and Tahoe are pretty nice. We could do worse. Just the same we don't have anywhere near the same kind of attractions to draw population. Some aspects of those areas wouldn't be so bad but there's not really a chance of it happening anyway. We should be a lot more concerned about reality than massive development or UN conspiracies both are spawned from the same lunacy.
I am blaming everything on the UN from now on. Easy to do.
Danco. Furtado.
Don't worry about all these "developers" Richard, just keep your eyes peeled on those weasels at Pierson Building
DeBeni, Pierson, Dunaway.
Barnum. Wendt.
*Wendt just got fined 300G for filling in Fortuna's Strong's Creek.
The wealthy don't usually run for office Richard. Elected officials are in the servant class.
What did I miss, I think Carmel and Tahoe are pretty nice. We could do worse.
God I hope not! And I don't think Carmel or South Lake Tahoe are "nice" by any standards. They are classic examples of low density sprawl.
