I'm thankful we haven't had anything like the flood of '64 to really change the face of Humboldt County. But, more than likely, when (not if) that happens, the people in this county will come together and the petty political differences will be meaningless. Sometimes, there are much larger issues facing us than marijuana laws and ordinances.
I cannot imagine what it was like here in '64, even after seeing photos, but no doubt Ross is right about Humboldt's response when a large disaster hits.
