The State Water Board unanimously voted to approve the NPDES permit to allow Freshwater Pulp to start the mill. This was the last large regulatory hurdle for the Pulp Mill to surpass. Congratulations to Bob Simpson and may many workers soon start back to work!

Good luck to us all !
I hope that now things will start to move in the direction that we have all been waiting for. The mill has been a major part of the economy in Humboldt for the last 40plus years.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable. Wonder if any of the local enviros will file suit?
ReplyDeleteAfter today's newspaper article.I am and ,I,m sure more are, of the opinion that thepulpmillsowner's/management's credibility is waning. What do you say BOB!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Richard,
ReplyDeleteDoes the big boy have the money needed? Hope so!
count on it Fred.
ReplyDeleteTake a look at the comments on the RWQCB website. There's a link on the 7/15 agenda item
Congrats Richard, crossing fingers and toes the enviros will be tossed out (hard)
ReplyDeleteI think Mr. Simpson has the support of most environmental conscience organizations. This mill looks like they can be a standard bearer for pulp mills in the future. I just hope all things go smoothly from here on.
ReplyDeleteI love the new banner!
ReplyDeleteGood News coming
