The Surfside Burger Shack at 445 5th Street in Eureka 268-1295 was the next victim of the Steve and Richard hot dog review.
They have
expanded their business! Lots of room and surf y type setting in
downtown Eureka. (Even a game room for the younger peeps.)
1. Hot
Dog-Dog itself was just all right. I had a chili dog once more and it
had plenty of chili and cheese! I did not like the bun at all but quantity was good. My
buddy Steve ordered a Chicago dog and it had plenty of fixings.

2. Condiments-Very limited but
they pile things on your meal. Rating: 2 out of 5
3.
Ambiance-Fun and light with great stuff to look at. Rating: 3.5 out

4. Extras- Lets
face the facts: This is primarily a Hamburger joint that serves dogs.
And they have great fries and onion rings to compliment.
Rating: 4 out of 5
5. Parking-Downtown Eureka on 5th.
Not too frustrating Rating: 3 out of 5

I agree with your assessment and review of the Surfside Shack. I think their dogs are actually better than the burgers which are kinda tough and dried out. Their fries are good. The one thing you did miss reporting is that the owner is a real jerk though when he's not there the other staff is really nice. The owner should stay away more.
ReplyDeleteWhat's on tap for this weeks review? Toni's? Hamburger King? Too bad Steve's is gone. Costco has a great dog too and is worth consideration!
ReplyDeleteI don't know when you can make it to Sohum during the week, but there's a stand down in Garberville at the north end of town which advertises "gourmet hot dogs." I haven't tried them yet, but I'm hearing great things about them - hot dogs with the outter skin "popping" when you bite into them, and "full beef flavor" whatever that means.
