To Ferndale. After her car over heated on the way to KHUM for a talk on Cliff Berkowitz show, Happy Trails. Susan had put water in her car and didn't put the cap back on her reservoir and so she made it as far ad College of the Redwoods. A police officer pulled over where Susan was stranded and gave her a lift to Ferndale just in time to make the program. (The officer lives in Ferndale.)
After the show, I gave Susan a ride to John's wrecking yard and the wife of former pulp mill worker Glen Bernald was able to find a cap to replace the lost one on Susan's 81' Mercedes in the yard. So I took her back to her car and she was back on the road.
Oh, and about the "Happy Trail" show. I thought Cliff was trying to turn the show into "Grumpy Rails." http://feeds.feedburner.com/KhumHappyTrails

Ever since he made that illegal left hand turn on his bicycle, he had been trumpeting it as a reason for a separate trail.
That's a nice story!
capdiamont, If you are talking about Cliff, I'm pretty sure
he was hit trying to cross the north bound exit at Elk River on highway 101.
Maybe he was hit twice, but I only remember that one. And I think he has been a champion for a trail long before that.
If Cliff didn't talk so much, he would be one low carbon dude.
As for the story, the headline was priceless. It also had a good ending.
so does Susan Penn have a deisel Mercedes?
tad is in jail

Richard, Did John Ash really tell the Democratic Central Cmtee when stumping for their endorsement that he was a lifelong Democrat when he had only just registered within a day or two?
I was there at the packed house meeting when John said he was a lifelong Democrat. He was registered as a NP when I purchased the voter registration information. John was challenged by an executive board member at the meeting and John said he had some registration issues and had corrected them.
Oh, and yes, Susan has a Diesel Mercedes.
I can't really help but wonder, what would one political campaign opponent say to another while giving the other opponent a ride somewhere? Must have been kind of awkward coming up with conversations to talk about
Chris: The main focus was to find a way to take care of Susan's car. We did have small talk about the election. Susan is strong in her convictions and we do differ on some harbor subjects, but we share social values. She is just regular folk.
