I removed the post the next day. Yes, I was taken to the barn and chastized over my comments by people (Anonymously mostly) and I reflected and agreed. The person in question has their opinion and I should honor their decision on who to support.
I have been transparent on my blog and have tried to let anyone discuss anything and keep from having to moderate. I hoped to keep that theme.
But maybe it is time to shut down this blog for a bit.
Dont let some anonymous troll push you away from your venue. Just change the rules of it to not allow anons. Switch it to open ID or google account, at least there is some accountability then. They can still add their two cents worth just they have a way of tracking them when the get to "trolly"
I responded under the name of Anonymous at 1:56 pm to the offensive comment just above it, which was made by an Anonymous commenter at 12:08 pm.
I guess my efforts to be a constructive, helpful, altogether civilized Anonymous poster won't prevent the other kind of Anonymous blogger from ruining this forum for me.
7:54pm I do not monitor my blog closely. That is obvious when I have someone take advantage when I go 24 hours without moderation. Sometimes I pay for that with some nasty entries.
"Has anything said on your blog been truly offensive? Or were you already of a mind to shut it down when people disagree with you?"
Yes. People have been truly offensive and I have thought about doing moderation because I don't have time to moderate the comments but once a day.
I am probably the first local candidate to run for office while being "open" and "transparent" through a public forum in the shape of a non monitored blog.
I didn't see where he dissed Marge, just wondered why she did not endorse him. Questioning is not dissing. Never called her dirty names or anything of the like. Rich, looks like I am flying home on the 4th of OCt. If I do I will have you come out and put up a sign on the family property then.

Is that what a bowel movement is like for you after a trip to the China Buffet?
ReplyDeleteThus, a great civilization comes to an end, not with a bang, but a sarcastic blog comment.

Rose has her very own troll as well, Rich - Mike "robpushedme" Buettner.
ReplyDeletePretty sad statement that you're getting "pushed" out by these "trolls"
ReplyDeleteI suppose that's how you will handle those that disagree with you on the HC. Call them names and take your ball and go home.
Has anything said on your blog been truly offensive? Or were you already of a mind to shut it down when people disagree with you?
I already told you Lawrence.. I'm not Rich I'm Retired.

Now you be transparent. Tell Richard who you are?
Too much ado about nothing.
ReplyDeleteAppropriate picture. Good luck, because you will need it. I don't think you'll win, but thanks for trying.
