Steve Harris run at 2nd District Supervisor over. Richard Mostranski to run against John Wooley for 3 District Supervisor.

My good buddy Steve Harris of the Operating Engineers local 3 is moving to San Jose to take over a larger office. He is no longer considering a run at Humboldt County Supervisor for the 2nd District. He gave his endorsement to Estelle Fennell. Richard Mostranski has been letting people know of his intention of running for the 3rd District seat against Wooley of Manila. It would have been the "Thrilla in Manila" or "Sanddwellers Delight" but the other Richard has moved to higher ground. Any others rumored to run against John?

  2. Sorry, Rich, but I will support Woolley if you run. I use to sing with his wife, Ann-Marie.

It is people like 5:38 that will assure John will be re-elected.

  4. Most of southern, southern Humboldt support Estelle, also It looks like the Humboldt Democratic Party is going to endorse her, and now Steve Harris endorses her, now all we need is for the voters to endorse her.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Richard, I think you should chair the Humboldt County Buffet Commission, other than that you're hopeless.

Bob Ornelus seems also ready to announce his run and word is Lee Ulansey is being strongly encouraged. Woolley will have his hands full from all directions.

  10. Lee Ulansey? He'd fall on his face in the debates. Or he wouldn't bother to show up like his no-show on KHSU.

  11. Ulansey,I could swear he identified himself as living in Freshwater at one of the Supes hearings.I could certainly have not heard correctly though.
Is Freshwater not in Nelly's district.

9:48-No, Freshwater is not in Neely's. It is in the 3rd I believe. Mostranski will have his hands full. Ornelas would be the front runner I would assume. Lee U lansey? Who is he?

  13. Freshwater is Woolley's district. Ulansey lives somewhere up on Kneeland, also in the 3rd. He could run against Woolley, but he'd lose.

  14. Ulansey is the frontman for HumCPR. Something about clear-cuts and big houses on every parcel.

Bob will fall flat on his face. But just imagine if he did get elected. Sef Murgiea's failure as a sup would pale in comparison. Rose Bird's state screw up would be close to the mess Bob would make.

Ulansey lives on Greenwood Heights in a 5,000 square foot house on 100acres zoned TPZ.

If you want an alcoholic to represent the 3rd, vote for Mostranski. I've read some of his drunken rants on this blog and have not been impressed.

John Woolley ran unopposed for 3rd District Supervisor in 2000 and 2004. Why couldn't anyone run against this guy in the past? It's not like he's some sort of unbeatable, popular incumbent. How many people even know who John Woolley is?

John is a genuinely nice guy with politics that match up well with his district, a tough combination to beat - and people know it, that's why they've been loath to run against him in the last two elections.

If he changes his opinion about supporting the comeback of the railroad, he'll be unbeatable.

Re-election depend on the game of number. only people can really decide the winner.
