Robin Marks for School Board Rummage sale. Post sale.

Do you know how many people show up to this stuff? It was Crazy in the morning! We had alot of wares to sell. (We sold out of Hot Dogs pretty early.) Thanks to all who donated toward this cause. We didn't make thousands, but we did make hundreds so it was all good. There was a huge rummage sale at Redwood Acres also the same day. Big Thanks to Steve and Diane Harris, Maggie Herblin, Patti Stammer, Susan Brinton, Elizabeth Farnsworth, Nick and Sharon Mitchell, Arcata Countertops and of course Operating Engineers local 3. We have stuff left over for a future sale for the Humboldt Domestic Violence Services in the future.

Robin and I were able to finish up and hustle over to Mike Thompson's Bounty by the Bay at the Adorni. Kind of a high end hottsy totsy type event. Different vineyards and beer distributors gave out samples. Food was supplied by different restaurants. It was a different forum than his old gatherings but it was good. But I miss the old Eureka Inn gatherings. I guess I am a traditionalist.

  1. Did you bring home your complementary wine glasses?

Hopefully, the Eureka Inn will come back to life soon!

Stopped by to see if you had any good stuff. About 2 minutes after we showed up my 3 year old son picked up a used breast pump that was obviously not cleaned. Disgusting.

Is Robin Marks seeking Shane Brinton's endorsement?

Richard, did you get to confront Mike Thompson about his support for the idiots at the NRA & slaughtering polar bears? Please don't tell me you actually gave any money to a Republican wannabe like Mike Thompson. Thompson already gets all the money he needs from corrupt corporate special interests.
    EXXON FOR MIKE THOMPSON.
Thompson is not much of a Democrat at all, if you ask me (and thousands of others in the district).
Richard, were you serious about running against Thompson? Or was that supposed to be a joke?

The Dems in this county are a disgrace to the Democratic party and the working people they claim to support.

  9. 8:18am-The tickets were given to us. Free food and drink? I am pretty much there everytime. I am a working class stiff you know.

Running against Thompson? If I knew some way to raise $200,000 to run a decent campaign I would. (And that may not even be enough.) Mike has his Democratic allies and has the ability to raise a huge war chest.

11:03-If you are an angry democrat, get involved. Be part of the solution. There are spots open on the HCDCC.

Richard, your blog is going the same direction as your political career . . . nowhere.

Open spots? Which spots? If people want to run for a seat on the Humboldt Democratic or Republican Central Committees they should contact Humboldt County Elections Office. I heard all you need is 20 signatures by March of 2008 to get on the ballot for HCDCC or HCRCC. No filing fees! I already know of a few people who are considering it. I'm not naming names yet. I'll leave that up to them.
