Yep. Robin and survived another year. We used to joke that the only reason we were still married was because of the kids. Neither of us wanted them and we wanted to save a nasty court battle. "No your honor, she deserves them!" Running family joke for years. But they have been gone for a few years now and still we are together. I think it is just an endurance race now. Number 30 next year!
25 years is the silver anniversary. 30 is steel or tin or some such.
ReplyDeleteMarriage is sort of like an alloy.
Where did you pack your kids off to, boarding school?
ReplyDeleteMany Congrats!!! I enjoy hearing/reading about couple who stay married. I read about all the divorce, but reading this post gives me hope!!!!

You're a lucky man, Richard. You should give Robin whatever - I mean WHATEVER she wants, for the rest of your lives.
ReplyDeleteI see Robin must have taught you to flush before you start wiping...
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS you 2, That is alot of years. You know time flies when you are having fun.

7:35-Both boys went to CR for awhile. Then both decided they wanted to further their education in the Sacramento area. (We have lots of family down that way.)
ReplyDeleteChildren make a relationship complex because of child rearing differences that come up.
You have to remember that children are not coloring books. You can't color them any shade that you want. They do have free will.
You mean they didn't leave because there aren't any jobs in Humboldt?
ReplyDeleteRichard, my condolences to Robin for putting up with you for so many years.
ReplyDeleteHumboldtHick-Many would like to give Robin condolences of her marriage to me. So she has a lousy taste in men. Don't hold that against her. I am glad she does!
ReplyDeleteMany more happy years to both of you!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniverary you two, now, lets Recall Larry Glass!
