Is it just me, or does this countdown the TS has on its opinion page disturb anyone else? I am not a Gallegos apologist, but I think it is a little tacky for the TS to force this issue daily. This subject brings up so many layers of emotion. Anger/blame/confusion/sympathy/sorrow. The forum is like CHRONICLEWATCH / Working for a better Bay Area without the positives. Maybe it is just me.
The countdown can also be seen on Rose's blog with more in depth Paul Gallegos analysis and comments @ watchpaul

I'm more bothered by the lack of a decision than the T-S countdown.
I'm more bothered that he continues to put this case on the back burner, and continues to prosecute other cases that could be handed to someone else. This is going to a long battle for Eureka residents,as the lawsuit result will inevitably have some appeals.
Times Standard is tacky, but then, so is Gallegos and the Humboldt County governmental bureaucracy. Let's have another day off, shall we?
media, media, media, blogs, blogs, blogs.....
Learning from what happened is the key.... In other words, Eureka was not ready for a Cheri Moore...
And now all we do is point and point and point....
What ever happened to using that negative energy into positive energy..
Maybe time to finally look around and come to some grip for the future. A future of wellness, and enlightenment---a society of caring and forgiveness---a society of understanding--a society of friends and neighbors. This is who we are..
So, why are we still here.....
Your excuses are really lame Richard. Its about time we hold these scum in office accountable. And I voted for this creep three times. Not again!
Hey - you guys that voted for the creep 3 times even though he was a dismal flop and has been caught lying to the public and plagiarizing get what you deserve.
Every law enforcement group told you about the idiot and you ignored it.
Victims came out - and you ignored it.
Even his opponent told you that he couldn't and wouldn't make a decision in the Moore matter and that it had to go to the Attorney General...and you ignored it.
So...enjoy!
What day is it 476?
I don't let cop-suckers tell me how to vote. If I did I would have voted for George Bush - and even I'm not that dumb.
Yeah, no duh. Why not just put the prison guards union in charge.
Well, many would call me a "Gallegos apologist," but I think the countdown is more than appropriate. If he can't make a decision, then he should explain precisely what he's waiting for, or what his questions are.
Put Gallegos in a cage with Vick.
"He used this damn thing politically..."
Perhaps Anonymous gives Mr. Gallegos too much credit. It is more likely that our DA is simply avoiding public criticism. The TS is simply pointing this out every day. Perhaps it will remind our DA of his duties.
Carson - sorry, I am not buying that. And I am not giving Gags too much credit. He is actually as stupid as a rock and if you spent anytime speaking with him, he can barely string several words together for a comprehensible sentence. The politics come from his handlers.
Hey Richard - I don't think it is tacky to press this issue daily.
In fact, its about damn time someone forced Gallegos to be accountable.
I look forward to seeing his mug everyday with the new day count...what do you wanna bet he won't make a decision until 2008 or 2009?
How do you spell gallegos - "L.O.S.E.R."
"I am not giving Gags too much credit. He is actually as stupid as a rock..."
Like I said, too much credit.
What do you want, 20 more years of Terry Farmer and his corrupt political machine?
Actually, if it was between Gags and Farmer, I would have to take Farmer. Gags has no brains, plagiarizes and his corruption is uncomparable.
Now thats a sad state of affairs.
Hey - the village idiot can't charge in this case because no crime fits what happened. That is what has frustrated the man. He wants a cop, but he can't even make an argument how they could have violated any statute.
