Seismogate solved at last!
Cal Trans is finally taking down those Earthquake Gates on the Samoa Bridge. Now if we have a major Earthquake, us sand dwellers have an alternate route to have a quick getaway. I did not feel it was a good idea to install these gates in the first place. Now it is a mute issue since the retrofit project is complete.

Check out Nick Bravo's new girlfriend!
link
She is 'special' just like Nicholas!
She's fat like Nicholas too!
Good to see Rob Amerman has so much time on his hands using a County computer on the taxpayer dime to spew such filth.
That's not my girlfriend. Harmony groves is...well she will be.
*chuckle chuckle chuckle*
Nick Bravo is very scary in person. I hope this young lady has actually met with him in person and not just in dark dingy chatrooms. She seems like a nice young girl who operates at his level, but is she truely ready for the challenges ahead?
According to Anon, dickie boy is shooting blanks. Let's pray that's true as something like dickie defies the law of natural selection. In an earlier era he woulda been left out in some feild for the wolves.
Any idea as to what the thinking was behind removing the gates?
I think this is a bad idea. Now, in a time of emergency, the sand dwellers will have direct access to Eureka. Is anybody else concerned about this?!?! We were better off thwarting the sand dwellers attempts to save their lives, and by trapping those animals on the spit where they belong, we had a better chance of ridding ourselves of them once and for all.
There is enough garbage out their for the sand dwellers to float upon in the event of a tsunami. Why do we have to open a route to eureka? My concern is that they'll just come into Eureka and start eating babies. Do we want that?
It may be a "moot point."
If it really is a "mute point" as you say it is, that might explain the dirth of comments posted here on the bridge question.
Who the hell is Nick Bravo?
look, if you start telling the sand bar dwellers they can seek refuge in Eureka, pretty soon theyre going to start asking why theyre only counted as 3/5 a person in the census.
A "mute" idea Richard? Was it conveyed by sign language?
Hahaha!!! I kill myself.
Anyway, what exactly were the gates supposed to accomplish?
has it ever occured to anyone that Bravo is probably the one writing anti-bravo posts?
Eric: That is funny. Opps on me. I was hoping it fell on "death" ears. Damn Mill Worker me.
Until the bridge was earthquake retrofitted, it was classified as unsafe to use during or right after a major earthquake. The gates were to come down during those times to keep people from the Peninsula from using the bridge as an escape route and putting themselves in danger. Since the retrofit work is complete, the gates are being removed.
This whole idea is based upon the sand dwellers owning reliable vehicles. Theyre screwed!
Speaking of mute points, would one of you experts tell us what it means to give someone "a wide birth?"
Can they move the gates closer to the sand dwellers? Instead of putting them on the bridge, why not put them on Vance road over by the cookhouse. In that way, at least we wouldnt give the sand people false hope. Im sure we could do the same thing in Manila with the northern sand people, just put the gates at the entrances to the main road. At least that way, if normal people happen to be at the beach, the roads would be clearer for them to escape.
