Yesterday, the Courage Campaign came out against all of the measures, including 1F. Clearly progressives aren't on the same page on this.

Just to be clear, I wouldn't mind limiting legislator's pay increases for an honest reason, but 1F is just an effort by the Sacramento establishment to buy votes for the other measures. Not only is it false populism, it's based on illogical reasoning. Limiting their pay won't get them to pass a budget. If we really believe that the 2/3 requirement is the problem, we shouldn't be sending mixed messages.

That being said, there is a small part of me that hopes the others go down and 1F passes. At least it would teach our legislators a lesson about trying to buy voters off with useless measures like this one.Shane Brintonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11305587492356897270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30719375.post-26991760578402630682009-04-29T09:14:00.000-07:002009-04-29T09:14:00.000-07:00This from the guy whose own self professed goal fo...This from the guy whose own self professed goal for the trip was to stuff his face with fine foods and wines - later he settles for a warm keg of Coors and Saltine crackers.

If Richard couldn't even fill his own craw properly with decent food, how is he going to represent our interests effectively?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30719375.post-57332845949675804572009-04-29T07:44:00.000-07:002009-04-29T07:44:00.000-07:00The real answer is just bog

The room they allocated was much too small. There was hardly room to stand. The chair of the Labor Caucus was there, and spoke of a new alliance between the Environmental and Labor caucuses in the party -- these two caucuses should work together on common goals. This was very well-received.

The North Coast's Debra Broner was elected vice chair of the Environmental Caucus. Debra is chair of the Del Norte County Democratic Central Committee.
