Humboldt County Supervisor Bonnie Neely supported Measure T!

She went public today at the BOS chambers with her support of Measure T after John Woolley had said he supported and signed the Measure.

Hmmm. Seems to me that when I debated Bonnie at the KEET forum hosted by the League of Women Voters of Humboldt County she categorically denied support of the Measure and I publicly stated I was the only candidate to support it. Why the public flip flop? She compared the effort to her "No on Walmart" campaign.

Is Bonnie pandering to local "progressives" or simply doing some political posturing for the left?

Bonnie seems to be a girl that just can't say no to slobbering on any rising Cobbalone. In light of her extra 20% salary, she's costing tax payers much more than 100k for this last sack of s---. How much for the failed redevelopement? With her track record and Mark/Cliff in her pocket Humboldt Co just might give A.I.G. etc, a good run for biggest stinker.

How do you spell R E C A L L! It is long past time to get rid of Bonnie. Her thinking that she is worth three time the average voters salary is the last and final straw. Lets see if Mark and Cliff who were supposedly against the raise move to recind it or will they quietly cower before Bonnie. Run Richard Run!

If I remember correctly, Bonnie was publicly neutral, wasn't she? This isn't so much a flip-flop as a coming out. Don't be so hard on her.

That being said, you deserve credit for having the guts to openly support it from the beginning.

11:28pm-No. She was publicly against the measure then. On KEET. I pointedly made this clear I was the only candidate running for the measure.

Sounds like you're gearing up for another run at Bonnie's seat. Good luck...you're gonna need it.

The skid marks seem to be veering to the left.

As to Mark "not taking the raise" - I read that he was going to give that portion of his BOS salary to charity. Isn't that just the same as taking it?? It's still going to cost the county more but then he will get a tax deduction.

I remember it the same way, Richard. but I also remember a flyer "Local Solutions" put out naming Bonnie Neely as their biggest supporter. With HUGE thanks.

It was the strangest thing, because at that time she was still pretending to have nothing whatsoever to do with them. While I may question their honesty on alot of things, they had no reason to lie about that. And she denied it.

Rose: Yes, you are right. Ironic isn't it? Politics makes strange bedfellows.

No. Wanting to keep your elected position at all costs makes strange bedfellows.

At the point that winning the election is more important to you than your principles, it's time to get out. She's well past that point.

Remember, these are the people who were "balls to the wall" out to destroy her a few years ago.

Democratic politics is about forming alliances with your fellow citizens by making compromises.

Thats how "the founding fathers" were able to create our republic from colonies with very different interests. Not by thinking that sticking rigidly to some predetermined ideological "principle" is proper or even patriotic.

Ideologues who would destroy the nation existed then and still exist today. They were reviled then and must still be reviled.

Nah, Native. That's called 'spin.

Funny, though. BS. But funny.
